A: Yes I do. It is 25%. My deposits are non-refundable except in specific circumstances as listed on my deposit form. I will not accept a deposit on a planned litter, only those that are on the ground or due to be delivered soon because I do not want to make a promise I can not keep. Q: Can we visit the puppies? A: Puppies are not very interesting until they are a wee bit older. I don't have anyone come to visit until they are approximately 3 weeks of age. If at that time you would like to come see them, and you have committed to a puppy, then yes, you are welcome. Q: Are the puppies raised in the home? And how do you raise your puppies? A: Yes, in my living room. As they grow they get time outside to play and eventually will be in the barn during the day. I raise my puppies with a lot of blood, sweat and tears as well as a lot of love and kindness. I raise puppies not knowing which one I am keeping so they all get the same treatment, exposure and socialization. Q: Do we get to pick out our puppy? A: Maybe. Maybe is the best answer I can give you. I breed for me, I plan to keep a puppy (sometimes more) out of each litter. I will pick the best one to continue my breeding program. This means that I will not pick them out until they are 7-8 weeks of age and evaluated by an objective group of my peers. Through the screening process I learn what you are looking for in a dog, what your goals are, what your lifestyle is and your canine skill level. If I have more than one puppy that can suit you then yes you can pick from them. If I only have one, then that is it. While I will always take a puppy back, my goal is to never have to, so I work hard on making a correct match, puppy to owner. Q: Do you sell Service Dog Prospects? A: Yes, but not blindly. Not every litter will produce service dog and I will not knowingly set a puppy up for failure. Labradors, while one of the 'Fab 4' are not perfect for every potential SD job. I will ask questions about what tasks you will training the dog to do. I will also want to know which professional trainer or organization you are working with. I understand that owners can train their own service dogs, I also know dogs can present challenges at any given time so having someone or an organization you can go to when these challenges are presented is also an important key to success. |
